| Jerry & The Champions When it comes to talent, there’s no shortage of it with Jerry & The Champions. In the age of digital recording, Jerry & The Champions have gone back to the basics, utilizing live musicians with full horn arrangements and background vocals. “You’re a Winner”, an album of inspiring, romantic, and uplifting songs is a triumph for the group. The album springs forth with the explosive opening track “You’re a Winner” and continues to unfold with musical surprises one after another. Jerry, the leader, has masterfully arranged each song; along with the help of his brother, Fast Ken, in such a brilliant and ingenious way. His superb use of the keyboards, horns, and vocals along with the pile-driving rhythm section is reminiscent of what R&B use to sound like. Jerry has infused a wide range of musical influences including Rock, R&B, Funk, Gospel and Jazz into a sound that is uniquely his own. His creative ideas seem to flow effortlessly from one selection to the next. The sound is captivating, refreshing and innovative, yet it retains a raw edge that can only be described as tantalizing.
